Game Experiments

Submitted on: 2006 at 6:36 pm by Chris Stormer

Saw this game on digg and it intriged me to. There must be a way to layout the board that makes it so it can be circular and infinate.

These are results of my experiments so far:

First got everything to face the same way.

Second: Accidently Triggered it while trying to setup loop… still in pretty good condition.

Third.. well crashed my browser and don’t have time to set up more tests now. I did limited testing with small blocks and the solution always seemed to be right there.. but I just couldn’t find it.

There just HAS to be a way to line these things up… so they go on forever!

    16 x 16 Grid

Note: Experiments can be done with a 4 by 4 grid circular may be possible with as small as 4 or 6 or 8 cubes without using the rest of the board at all!

This thing is seriously an exercise in frustration. I can score 9 with 4 blocks, but blocking everything off in the corner you can experiment iwth smaller blocks. This doesn’t really help that much but it does show some interesting patterns. When expermenting with larger nubmers it just begins to get too complex.. at least for me..
